<div class="MsoNormal">
Hi Guys,<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
So today I have a review for you, and I will warn you I’m a
little rusty at writing reviews so have a little patience with me. So this is a review of Summer of Cotton Candy
by Debbie Vigue, it is a young adult Christian contempory novel. And the first
in a four part series.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<a href="http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1388902570l/3327325.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1388902570l/3327325.jpg" /></a> This follows a girl named Candace who is forced by her
father to get a part time job for the summer at an amusement park called the
zone, at first she thinks that he’s ruining her summer fun with her best friend
Tamara but after meeting the mysterious mascot guy ; Kurt, she’s not so sure
anymore. <o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
I loved this book. It was a total breath of fresh air,
Candace was so realistic as she moaned about her job. She had the right amount
of faults while she still realised her faults like she gets angry at a small
girl who comes to her cotton candy counter and immediately asks god for
forgiveness. <o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
I also loved the friendships and family in this book. A lot
of times in the contempory books I read friendship and family is pushed out for
the romance and in this book I think it was entirely the opposite, I think Josh
and Tamara were in more scenes in this
book and got more page time than Kurt did in the whole thing. And while I liked
the relationship between Candace and Kurt, I much preferred reading about her
friendships. Another thing on this point was that this book doesn’t suffer from
absent parents like a lot of Young Adult books do, Candace’s parents were big
parts of her life and effected how she thought of things. <o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
I think this book deals well with the issue of getting jobs
young, at one point Candace’s dad offers to let her quit her job when she’s
having a real hard time with it and she says that if she can’t deal with a
summer job then how is she going to function in the real world which I think is
a valid point. The job changed her perceptive on her life in general so much so
that she was actually sad when her last day of summer came. <o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Another thing that was brilliant about this book was the
theme park. I mean why is this place not real. I could picture everything about
it in my head and just wanted to be there so badly, it had sections like the
historical zone, and the holiday zone and all the zones have a theme which is
pulled off amazingly and since we follow Candace who has a job that can be in
any of the zones rather than a character like Josh whose job is just in the
Splash Zone, or Kurt whose job is only in the historical zone, we get a feel
for the whole park.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
So all in all this book was a really quick (only 220 pages)
and amazing read. I definitely recommend it!<o:p></o:p></div>

<br />
Right,<br />
I'm way way way behind in my reviews so this might be rubbish as it's been a while since I read this one :P<br />
Well City of ashes! here's the cover<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1369452325l/1582996.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1369452325l/1582996.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So just to warn you this book review will contain spoilers for the first book so don't read it if you haven't read book number 1! So Valentine has gotten away with the motal cup. Jace and Clary and trying to cope with the fact that they're brother and sister. and their mother is still in a sort of coma. It includes all the same people from the first book and I can't really say much about the plot (because I hardly remember it ) but I remember a lot of twists and turns (and two that were royally ruined by watching the movie). But most of it was very shocking and I found myself always hating Cassandra clare because she's one mean woman!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I loved Simon in this book and my opinion on which boy I liked best was constantly changing and I had no idea who I liked more for Clary and my head was a confusing place to be in :P We got glimpses of other downworlders I especially loved the Faeries because what girl doesn't? </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
But the werewolves and vampires were sort of cool too. There's a sort of relationship between Simon and Clary for a bit which really made me feel sorry for him because she really doesn't love him but she really wants to and it's just not fair on him.. :(</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So.... Nothing else I can remember, I really did love this book though and I can't wait to continue on with this series soon ish :P</div>

<div style="background-color: white; color: #444444; line-height: 15px; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: black; line-height: normal;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">The Werewolf - Myth and Fascination</span></span></div>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">The werewolf has been a source of fascination for hundreds of years. The legend of a half-animal, half-human being is one of the longest myths I have come across. During the time I was writing Secrets of the Moon, I researched hundreds of websites and came to the staggering conclusion that the werewolf legend is far older than I originally thought. Though it became extremely popular during later years, the first reports date back to somewhere in 600 B.C.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">By the 1500’s it became a source of sheer, unadulterated terror. Hundreds of people were executed because they were either presumed to be werewolves, were accused by others of being this mythological creature, or they confessed to have the ability to shift from human to wolf. The eyewitness account seemed to consist with recent disappearances from the area. This alone was enough to set the town (village) into a frenzied mode. And thus, the accused became suspects.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Although the werewolf legend had spread terror to those who believed in the myth, during more recent times the way this mythological creature is seen has changed drastically. The werewolf now has a very unique appeal, which draws the general public to the point of obsession. Not that I can blame anyone. I’m probably just as obsessed as any other avid reader, or movie lover.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">I do have to say though, as much as I am fascinated by the werewolf and what it supposedly represents, I have no doubt in my mind that, although incredible and downright irresistible, it is nothing but a myth. However, it was on these basic historical facts that I based Secrets of the Moon. I began to ponder the ‘what if’s’. What if the werewolf existed? What if the myth was real? What if the legend were not just legends, but actual events that involved real werewolves? What kind of lives did they live when they were being hunted down by humans? How would they live in modern times? What if they hid among us? What would we do?</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">The more I read about the legend and how it affected people, I began to really contemplate writing my own werewolf saga, taking into consideration all these questions. I wanted to play a bit with the legend and twist it around to a dramatic point where readers would not be able to guess in what direction I wanted to take the story until they finished the actual book.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">My longtime fascination with this myth is what ultimately led me to venture into the werewolf world. With Secrets of the Moon I hope to achieve a new version to this myth plus transform the legend in some way. Or at very least give it a brand new twist.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">After all, if the interest for these creatures has only increased over the years, one can only imagine how much more captivating it can get in the future?</span><br />

<br />
Hello,<br />
so another review! this book is another one I got from a blog tour and I really liked it. Here's the cover;<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img src="http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1353297124l/11391881.jpg" /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
It is a paranormal fantasy book that follows a teenage girl called Jaycie Lerner who is a telepath, empath, and telekinetic and her family who also all have similar powers too. Her father has forced her into private school since up to this point she's been home schooled and her father wants her to gain some normalcy. She gets pysically trained by her 'mother figure' Allison. She very much tries to stay on the outside of social stuff until a strange woman tells her to get a job at a local bookshop and befriend Haley.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
There is also a side plot of her romance with best friend Matt but it's not a massive part of the story which I did like because it wasn't a very interesting side plot but it added something to Jaycie's character.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Haley adds a lot to the story and is really my favorite character in this book. She has a lot going on that you get dealt to you in bursts and her dealing with this supernatural world that she's a part of but has never even realised is there before is the best part because mostly I hate it when in all supernatural books when a character finds out about it they don't freak out like most people would or completely deny it exists. This is where I think Haley was extremely realistic and I liked her for this. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I loved Jaycie's whole family. Epecially her godfather who even though he is a brief visitor his power is super cool and he really cares about Jaycie. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Allison was really cool too and I liked how she wasn't your typical adult character, she is Jaycie's trainer and has a hell of a lot of power within her. She's really over 90 years old but her power keeps her looking twenty as well as being able to heal quickly, run fast and be super-strong. really she has it all. Plus she goes on dates with a lot of different men which is another thing that is rarely seen in books. Promiscuous men yes. but women no.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I really loved the idea of evalution in this, that evalution isn't finished with humans and is still giving us abilities that aid our survival. I think it's really interesting to think about what that could mean!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
So that's that.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<br />
Hello!<br />
<img height="83" src="http://i1249.photobucket.com/albums/hh501/myreadingaddiction/banner-272_zps68d8b878.jpg" width="320" /><br />
Time for a blog tour!! So I got the book for review for this blog tour and I really liked it. I didn't love it as much as some other books I've read Lately but I did really like it. Here's the cover;<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img src="https://sites.google.com/a/myaddictionisreading.com/fall-2013-tours/_/rsrc/1376196099248/miles-cressman/TDMresized.jpg?height=400&width=264" /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
My explanation of this book might be rubbish but let's go with it. It's a novel set in a dream. Everyone's dream. A company have created this city where people can dream basically it's set in a world where everyone in the city is really asleep and it is all a dream and while they all think they are just dreaming but being given a chance to dream forever they are actually dreaming of real people who are also dreaming along with them. They get kind of skips in dreams and most of them do kind of control the dreams with their thoughts.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
It follows quite a lot of characters which at first I thought was It's downfall but as the book went along and you figured out who people really were and their relationships with one another in the dreams and in reality it really became one of the most interesting parts. All the characters that it followed were completely different and very interesting and some of their stories did make me cry a little, especially Abele and Caine :-\ .</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I did feel like sometimes we didn't really get to know enough about the world or the characters until the last second. there are still some people that I have no idea what their meaning was in the grand scheme of things. I do have to give this book and author major props for the fact that while inception boggles my mind even after seeing it three or four times I understood all the ins and outs of this dream world as it doesn't try to explain the ins and outs of dreaming and stuff. It gives you the world as it is and doesn't try to make you understand why it is the way it is. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I loved the reasons why all these people decided that they wanted to dream forever. Like all their reasons for wanting to escape reality ranged from petty reasons that they could get over to big horrible issues that you can understand a person wanting to leave reality behind for. There were stories of people's dreams in the dream city that made me laugh and feel sad at the same time and they were basically really interesting. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Overall I gave this book 3 Stars because while I wasn't fully engaged in all the characters there were some that I really loved and with as many POVs as there was in this book, I can't blame myself for disliking some of them. but the city itself and all the world building was excellent and I would definitely recommend it!<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Hey! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So another book review.. I feel like my blog is becoming just book reviews, but I'm in a writing slump so... sorry. I got this book for the blog tour but that does not affect my feelings about this book or anything I say in this review. Here's the cover (which is pretty cool )</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1370451880l/17352033.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1370451880l/17352033.jpg" width="209" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This is a christian fiction dystopian which really intrigued me as I haven't actually heard of any christian dystopians before but since I love dystopians I was thrilled to read this. The basic premise is that Thalli lives underground, a <span style="background-color: white; color: #181818; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 13.600000381469727px; line-height: 15.199999809265137px;">nuclear</span> war made the whole earth inhabitable so a group of 10 scientists went under group and started rebuilding the society called The State. They live in pods and at this point in time there are only three generations who were all born out of test tubes and were designed for particular purposes. When the scientists started this society they ruled that it would be without the members of it having many feelings that weren't necessary to their jobs. Which means that Thalli is an anomaly since she does have feelings and is curious about this which she shouldn't question.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I really loved this book, It was the perfect mix of the Christian fiction and the dytopian. The world was really well built and I could picture it all in my head perfectly. The characters were well developed, I loved that Thalli was really trying to hide her feelings from her guardians and I hated how she failed since she'd done it for sixteen years but she was destined to fail at some point. This is really a story of how God will reach the people who let Him in whatever the circumstance. Even in a world where all feelings and religions have been abolished He still finds a way to show himself. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
One thing that really annoyed me about this book was the attempt at a love triangle, it was really disappointing. Since I am a sucker for love I normally relish in a good love triangle but this one seemed forced. It only lasted about 5 chapters before it was resolved and ultimately her choice wasn't surprising and I really felt like it was a worthless effort in the way that ended up. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I really loved seeing Thalli's friend Rhen who is in charge of the Logic for their pod and doesn't feel things like Thalli does. She really highlighted how different Thailli is from everyone else in her pod. While Thalli is always hiding her feelings out of fear of the scientists, as soon as Rhen gets a common cold she wants to report herself to the monitors who will eventually decide to kill her. She is completely ignorant to the fact that handing herself in will result in her death as even though she knows this will happen she believes that logically it is the safest thing for the rest of the pod.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I liked that instead of Thalli believing in God as soon as she was told about him and just accepting John's word for it she really had to see it for herself. He showed himself to her in little bursts until she felt his presence on her own and couldn't deny Him. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It's such a different thing to a lot of the Christian fiction I read and to me it is a welcome change to accept popular genres and give them a little twist to make them belong in this genre. I would definitely recommend this book to any one really. As it is a really interesting read that will have you thinking about it after you've finished reading.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

Hey,<br />
I LOVE PERCY! God this world is just amazing. here's the cover;<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://geeksyndicate.files.wordpress.com/2012/03/cover_-_percy_jackson_and_the_sea_of_monsters.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://geeksyndicate.files.wordpress.com/2012/03/cover_-_percy_jackson_and_the_sea_of_monsters.jpg" width="261" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So Percy is thrown into another adventure along with Annabeth. Groover has been kidnapped and Thalia's tree is dying. the only way to save them both is for Percy and Annabeth to retrieve the golden fleece from the sea of monsters. As with the first book they go through a lot of dramatic battles with monsters which all make me think how scared I'd be if I was a 9 year old reading these books.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I love this world. I love all the gods and half bloods and everything about camp half blood. and I love Rick Riordan's style. Percy has such a distinct and funny voice that the whole book even in tense parts he had me laughing at the things he'd think of. I loved Annabeth's curiosity in this book and I really think she developed well but my favorite character has to be Tyson. He is a cyclops who at the beguinning of the book is just a huge guy who Percy goes to school with but later in Camp half blood Percy discovers he is a cyclops and is also a son of poseidon. but because he is young but looks older as he is a cyclops. he is very touchy and cute but he's so protective and loving of Percy even though through the entire first half Percy hates having Tyson as his brother and thinks Poseidon is trying to make him feel bad. I loved how absent Poseidon was because I think even though he did send things for Percy and Tyson he didn't really do much, like Hermes helped Percy out the most and that was just in order to help out his son Luke. I really loved Hermes and his snakes as well they were the coolest. Anyway read this book</div>

<br />
Hey,<br />
Right this might be a short review because I can't think of things that I can say that won't be spoliers so here's the cover;<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1375207299l/1471425.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1375207299l/1471425.jpg" width="260" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So this book is a goldmine for any paranormal type book fan. It includes lots of different creatures from vampires and werewolves to Fairies and warlocks. Also the main creatures of the book, shadow hunters. They all live in Idris normally which is a country that's between France and Germany. but they live in cities and stuff in the mundane (human) world, to fight of demons from different worlds. Clary isn't aware of this world until the beginning of this book when she is plunged into it head first when she meets Jace, Alec and Isabelle in a club and witnesses them fighting off a demon.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I loved loved loved this book. So much that I went off today and bought the next two books in this series. I didn't think this book could live up to all the hype but it totally did. and lots of people say the infernal devices is even better and I can't possibly fathom how Cassandra Clare can beat herself... How are you doing this woman? </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
There is a slight love triangle in this book but It's not one that you should worry about if you're starting this series because if the ending is anything to go by it's not going to be a problem in the rest of the series. Gosh the falcon story had me crying for days. then I told my friend and she cried... that story is heart breaking. Anyway enough of this because I'm going to spoil it. let's just say I loved it and you should read it. like now.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div>
<br /></div>
Hi,<div>
Another book review! Technically this means I've finished the Uglies series, apart from the companion novel which I will read soon. Yay for finishing series! So onto Specials, WARNING first though this will contain spoilers for both Pretties and Uglies but will be kept spoiler free for Specials.</div>
<div>
Here's the cover I have;</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1327097703l/7723762.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1327097703l/7723762.jpg" width="262" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So this book is probally my favorite in the series I think. It's so action packed and I loved Tally in this one. you learnt so much more about the world as a whole in this book.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So Tally has been turned into what she had always feared most ; a special. or more specifically, a part of the special circumstances called the cutters. They are different from other specials and they get their name from the fact that they cut themselves in order to feel 'icy' which is in theory the same thing as Pretties getting 'bubbly' but a little bit more intense. All the specials have like crematic bones and razer sharp teeth and a ring that can render people uncouncious and they are really bad ass agents. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Thank you Scott Westerfeld for giving me the ending that I desired. Not giving anything away though.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I did hate that neither Zane nor David was really present in the book until they needed to be. and Tally never thinks of David EVER. I hate that about her because I Loved David the most and I really didn't like Zane. He just annoyed me. I think Tally really came to terms with the fact that she is the reason all of this is happening. for a comparison in the hunger games Katniss is aware all the time that she is the symbol of the rebellion, as soon as she starts to be it. she's the mockingjay and the girl on fire and she's very aware of what she needs to do as that symbol. Tally however is the reason all of this is happening and she didn't realise it until David spells it out for her. so she does stuff that is completely against what she should be doing for the smoke. I love how strong she is and that throughout this series she has just grown and grown and pushed herself out of whatever she's been put into. Like in Uglies she gets away from being an Ugly and becomes a Smokie. Then once she is turned into a Pretty she fights against being a bubblehead on her own and again gets back to the smoke and being a smokie for a little while. I won't reveal what happens in this book but she breaks out again. I really felt sorry for her though because I as a reader started to realise how much she has been put though at the hands of other people. She was turned into a pretty almost against her will, then she was again turned into a special against her will. She has a right to have an identity crisis when everytime she finds herself. herself is taken away and changed again. and although she always struggles to get back to it, she shouldn't have to do it. I loved the new city ( not sure if it's a spoiler); Diego. It really opened your eyes to the whole of the world rather than just Tally's town. Like how Tally's town is really the strictest and has the most rules against pretties and Uglies and how before I'd assumed every town has Specials but it's shown that Tally's town is the only that has them. I think the world building in this book was the best and Diego was very capitol esque, with crazy people getting surgury to look like they want with no restrictions. Tally got herself into a lot of trouble but I was really happy with the ending and I thought it'd be an ending I hated so Well Done Westerfeld. Video review will be recorded and edited and posted soon!;</div>

<br />
Hi,<br />
I finally understand all the hype. I loved this book. Here's the cover I have;<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1264922797l/6692896.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1264922797l/6692896.jpg" width="260" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Yes it's the movie cover but it was 50p so I really don't care. So for those of you who don't know what the Percy Jackson and the olympians series is then you really should read it. It follows Percy Jackson a twelve year old boy who has been kicked out of 6 schools in 6 years, has been diagnosed with dyslexia and ADHD. Then he gets attacked by his maths teacher/ a fury and boom! He finds out he's the son of a greek god. One of the big three; Poseidon to be precise. So to keep him safe he has to be shipped off to Camp Half-blood for the summer in order to make sure that monsters don't try and kill him. Which they do anyway but ah well. There are lots of other Demi-gods and it's really complicated like all the children of one greek god like in the same cabin at the camp and fight competitions together as a team. Since Percy is the only living son of Poseidon he's all alone. but everyone there is kind of his cousins. Told you it's complicated. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I loved how all the green myths were weaved seamlessly into the mortal reality. The explanation of the mist causing humans to see events that were really work of the gods as terrorist attacks or wars against one country with another (it explains that the world wars were basically demi-gods against demi-gods) and all the feuds against the different gods like Annabeth who is one of Percy's best friends and the daughter of Athena, feels like she is supposed to hate Percy because Poseidon and Athena have a bit of a feud is really funny.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I loved how all the Demi-gods had parts of their parents in them. Like they would do things and Percy would say that he could see why they were the god of wars children for example. I kind of hated the gods. I know they have a lot to do but they are real jerks. They use the Demi-gods for quests because the only explanation I can see is that they're too lazy to do the jobs themselves and they feel the quests are beneath them. Poseidon claims Percy as his son only because he wants this quest doing by Percy otherwise he wouldn't have even bothered. so all the Demi-gods are a little bitter and don't really care much for their god parents. and I don't blame them. I loved that you don't really have to know much about greek mythology to get it. You need to know some of the gods maybe and that's it. otherwise we learn it along with Percy (from mostly Annabeth and Grover) or Percy teaches us it. which for a middle grade book I loved because If i was nine I would have loved learning about the greeks with Percy rather than from boring teachers at school. This is an excellent book for fans of harry potter I think. From what I can tell the series runs like harry potter does. each book starts at the beginning of Summer at camp half blood with Percy a year older and the themes in the book also being suitable for kids who are a year older. and You have to learn about the world of the olympians along with Percy just like with the wizarding world with harry. But by the end of the series I hope to be an expert! I will buy all the other book in this series! but I did not like the film I would have liked it if it wasn't tied to the book but it was extremely loosely based on this book and I hate adaptations that are loosely based, it irritates me. So video review to be posted here soon;</div>

<span style="font-family: inherit;">Hey,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">So here's another book review. It's another one I got from NetGalley for an honest review. Here's the cover and some information about it;</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1374021430l/18210450.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1374021430l/18210450.jpg" width="258" /></span></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Release date; 1st August 2013 | Author ; Cristin Terrill | Pages; 379 Pages. | </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Right. I can't explain this myself without spoliers so have the blurb because that does an excellent job at doing just that; </span></div>
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="background-color: white; color: #181818; line-height: 15.199999809265137px;">"You have to kill him." Imprisoned in the heart of a secret military base, Em has nothing except the voice of the boy in the cell next door and the list of instructions she finds taped inside the drain.</span></span><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="background-color: white; color: #181818; line-height: 15.199999809265137px;">Only Em can complete the final instruction. She’s tried everything to prevent the creation of a time machine that will tear the world apart. She holds the proof: a list she has never seen before, written in her own hand. Each failed attempt in the past has led her to the same terrible present—imprisoned and tortured by a sadistic man called the doctor while war rages outside. </span></span><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="background-color: white; color: #181818; line-height: 15.199999809265137px;">Marina has loved her best friend James since the day he moved next door when they were children. A gorgeous, introverted science prodigy from one of America’s most famous families, James finally seems to be seeing Marina in a new way, too. But on one disastrous night, James’s life crumbles apart, and with it, Marina’s hopes for their future. Now someone is trying to kill him. Marina will protect James, no matter what. Even if it means opening her eyes to a truth so terrible that she may not survive it. At least not as the girl she once was.</span><span style="background-color: white; color: #181818; line-height: 15.199999809265137px;"> </span> </span></blockquote>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">It's kind of like Doctor who, they talk about paradoxes and Time not being Liner (Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey) and I love that stuff and I've never read a time travel book. I'd definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Doctor who because I completely got that vibe from it. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">I got into this book right away and I loved going on the journey with Em and Finn, they grabbed my heart from the very beguinning and at every toss and turn I was worrying that they weren't going to survive the chapter. I loved their relationship with each other even though there was kind of a weird love triangle that I won't go into. I thought Cristin Terrill got the time travel aspect just right. There was enough time travel talk so that you understand everything that's going on but not too much so that it's confusing. Also when they actually traveled and were in the past it could have gotten confusing with which person was which but it never did. She did a brilliant job and keeping the reader informed. I loved all the plot twists as there were enough clues for them that I was annoyed at not seeing them but there weren't enough clues for me to have seen everything coming. There's a lot more that I loved about this book that I just can't tell you in order to avoid s</span>poilers. but I will just say this book is one of the best I've read this year and is another book from NetGalley that gives me confidence about their quality.</div>

<br />
Hello,<br />
So this is a book review of my third John Green book which is An Abundance of Katherines. and I still love John Green! Here's the cover I have;<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1363679757l/17188744.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1363679757l/17188744.jpg" width="260" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So in short this book is about Colin ; a child prodigy who believes he will never be a genius, who suffered through bullies, memorised languages, and dated 19 girls named Katherine. Oh and also highly enjoys anagraming. The book starts when he has just been dumped by Katherine-19. He's moping around and his best friend Hassan can't deal with it anymore so he suggests they go on a road trip, and so that's exactly what they do. and they end up in Gutshot Texas, living with a woman named Hollis and her daughter Lindsey (Who is dating TOC - the other Colin-). and it's basically about him getting over K-19 and also coming up with this theorem to predict everything about the relationship between two people. for example he thinks he can predict how long the relationship will last and who will be the dumper and dumpee.</div>
I think it was really intereting reading this after I've been watching John Green's vlogs for a while, because with the other two books if John's voice was there I couldn't hear it. but with this one I really got a sense of him on every page. Colin says things that John's said in his videos and he has little footnotes where he shares little facts that come up in the story and stuff. I loved Colin's intelligence, and how he thinks that other people won't find him interesting. I loved the secondary characters too, Lindsey was a strong woman who actually has a lot of problems inside. I loved Hassan and his battle with his religion and being chubby. and I hated TOC! He wasn't nice.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I also liked learning about the Katherines that Colin has dated and how his 'type' started off.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Anyway I can't think of much more to say :P Video review will be posted below once it's up.</div>

<br />
Hey,<br />
So since this review is of a sequel there will be spoilers for Matched! I was really excited to get this book in the post after I finished Matched and it finally came a couple of days ago. Here's the cover;<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img height="400" src="https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSIXVRp76sRoSCLfGNMPxjXhO4u91yaUZ7hHXQDH6u_QyD7fkTHWw" width="249" /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Crossed starts a few months after Matched finished, Cassia is in a work camp and Ky is in the outer provinces to fight. It is told from both points of view with one chapter from Cassia then the next from Ky. I thought at first it was really interesting to have both points of view but once they reunited (Not sure if that's a spoiler) it was annoying because it was hard to tell sometimes which one was speaking and I had to think about it for a second. I think Ally Condie could have done a better job and making Ky's voice apparent and different to Cassia's because if that had been better this book would have been amazing. I did really enjoy it but I think like most sequels I prefer the first book and this was a little bit of a let down for me. I loved that you got to see more of the world because in Matched the rest of the world outside of Oria isn't really explained. but this time there were side characters from different provinces which really helped the understanding of the whole world.You see the Outer Provinces with both Ky and Cassia's point of view which was interesting as it is all new for Cassia and it's home and full of bad memories for Ky. Xander also intrigued me in this book although he wasn't actually there all that much a lot of secrets about him were revealed that made me question his character all together. I loved that there were new side characters although some of them I was weary of (INDIE!!). Indie is with Cassia as she tries to find Ky and has tried to find the Rising which is the rebellion. Eli and Vick travel with Ky, you learn about Vick's love with an anomaly and Eli is young and sweet and has seen a lot more than he should have had to. Cassia is really shocked by things in this book because I think if Ky hadn't come along she never would have any interest in a rebellion. She would have done what the society wanted so she comes to terms with the choice she has really made for herself while running from the society. There were a lot of things that I didn't get and questions I wanted answered that didn't get answered in this book. They kept talking about a warming event before the society and they all just said it in passing and didn't explain it like Hunter said 'they're trying to avoid another warming event' and everyone apart from any reader just knew what that meant and so it wasn't explained which kind of bummed me out. I did like all the sweet parts with Cassia and Ky and learning more about Ky's childhood and his father because in the first book even with all the pictures he gave Cassia I was never really sure of anything other than the fact that his parents died and he lived in the outer provinces so his drawings kind of sucked as an information giving device. I really hope all these questions are answered in the last book which I am going to read but I will not be happy if they are left blank... that will annoy me. so yeah... video review to come once I've recorded and edited it. Will be linked below!.<br />

<br />
Hey,<br />
<div>
So I recently joined NetGalley which is a service where publishers offer reviewers free ebooks in exchange for an honest review. This is the first book I have read from it. and I must say that I was a little sceptical about what the quality of these books would be. but I really shouldn't have been and I can tell that I started with the right one to boost my confidence about them. This book is by Melissa Keil and here's the cover!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img src="http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1355447297l/16119664.jpg" /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">I love that cover, if only I had it on my bookshelf! This book is the debut YA novel of Melissa Keil and It is amazing. It follows a movie geek called Sam and is set in Australia (Wahoo for British spelling ) he and his friends are the lowest in the school and give in to the A-group's authority which leaves them avoiding the dinner hall and eating in the IT office and lunch. When Camilla starts at the school her father's minor </span>celebrity<span style="font-family: inherit;"> attracts the A-group, so Sam wants nothing to do with her. But she worms her way into his life with world of Warcraft and 80s movies. I loved Sam's </span>narration<span style="font-family: inherit;"> so much, I think that made this book what it is. He's such a sweet guy, and he's hilariously funny through the whole thing, some of his remarks about things had me laughing out loud, for example '</span><span style="background-color: white;"><span style="color: #181818; font-family: inherit;"><span style="line-height: 12.666666984558105px;">Has anyone ever made a movie about homework? Probably. I bet it was in French.' He's an aspiring screenwriter and for me as a teen writer when he was saying about having bad ideas and unfinished works I completely relate to him. Camilla is described as being anti demon (or something like that) by Sam as as soon as she decides that she wants Sam and his friends to be her friends suddenly they are not the bottom of the school's barrel anymore. I loved Camilla and Sam!! I love that even though it's a YA book and that makes it seem like all cutesy (Take Eleanor and Park for example) Sam and Camilla spend the whole book almost getting to it but annoying me at the last minute by not getting together... and that four word line... if you've read this you might understand. I seriously sat squeeking at my kindle for ten minutes and refusing to read anymore for twenty minutes. I hated Sam for that. Both Camilla and Sam and the other three main characters are very realistically flawed and I love that none of them are perfect they all have their own problems and it all comes out in the end. Sam's realisation of his love for Camilla was the funniest part because it's so so so obvious to everyone apart from him and Camilla. but he's so shocked that he likes her and he doesn't actually like the idea of liking her. Their friendship is the cutest </span></span><span style="color: #181818;"><span style="line-height: 12.65625px;">especially</span></span><span style="color: #181818; font-family: inherit;"><span style="line-height: 12.666666984558105px;"> when she's sick... I love that bit!! They bounce off each other and annoy each other. Like Sam doesn't like being called Sammy (So much that it's mentioned in the first chapter) and Camilla hates because called Millie so to annoy each other they adopt talking to each other using these names. GOD I just love this book so so so so much!! I finished this so quickly I started it thusday night and finished it at half one last night which was good for me as I was out all day too. but I couldn't put it down! I felt like if I left Sam alone for too long that he'd do something he'd regret or I'd miss his move with Camilla :P I love when books makes me feel like I'm there and with this one I really did. I didn't feel like I was Sam. I felt like I was like Allison or Mike or Adrian. Shouting advice at him and begging him to kiss Camilla. </span></span></span><br />

<br />
Hey!<br />
It took me a while to finish this book but I've done now! I think you really have to go into this book forgetting who the author is and remind yourself that authors can have books you hate and books you love. and while I'm not a big fan of Twilight I wouldn't say I hate it, but I would say that the host is a huge improvement from Twilight. Here's the cover;<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img height="400" src="http://youngadulthollywood.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/the-host-cover.jpg" width="258" /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Before you read this book apart from not judging Stephenie Meyer, I would also warn you to power through. It took me almost 400 pages to be really passionate about this book because the world building is quite slow and for a while there's nothing really going on. I think Meyer's character development has really improved from Twilight to the host, I could relate to them all even wanderer who is an alien. Even the villain type people had clear objectives and I really felt sorry for them. Basically this book takes place in the future where aliens have taken over the earth but not in the way you would think they insert themselves into human brains with the objective of not only taking over the planet but of making it a better place to live in. Wanderer gets inserted into Melanie who was a rebel and unlike other human minds she refuses to fade away from her own mind and she stays around and talks to wanderer through her mind filling her head with memories of her boyfriend Jared and her brother Jamie until wanderer loves them as much as Melanie does. They set out to find them both and make sure they're okay. At first when they find the rebels they don't trust Wanderer but as they get to know her they realise how peaceful she is and how compassionate she is for the humans.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I loved the complete contrast of personality from Melanie to Wanderer, as Melanie is a very aggressive person and wanderer is very peaceful. The love triangle/square was the weirdest ever. and I love Ian and Wanda because they are adorable. Jared was a douche to Wanda through it all but I loved his love for Melanie. I did love the world and how self-sacrificing Wanda was and the ending... for the last 100 pages I was on the brink of tears all through it. I had to message Harry's mum (who's read this book) to have her assure me whether or not it has a happy ending and I am so glad what I thought was going to happen didn't happen. although my second guess was exactly what happened. I loved all the characters and Wanda especially, but I also cannot think of anything else to say although I will edit this post if I think of other things I should have said. Anyway that's the host Bye!<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
.... That's all I can start with. Because my mind's all foggy right now because of this book. I think I found a new favorite book... Here's the cover that I have.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img height="320" src="https://encrypted-tbn1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQSXC0QGJccXfkNyGF8oH-N87VmiQLyFIK14Rtr1nSKYpCrQkU3rg" width="205" /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This book is the sweetest book ever. I've heard such amazing things about it that I didn't think It could possibly live up to it. but it did. When you read this as long as you've had your first love you can't help but think about it and wish it was as amazing as Eleanor and Park.. I want to be Eleanor.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Basically I should describe the outline. Eleanor is the new girl at school, she's chubby and dresses weird and has the reddest hair you've ever seen. Park keeps himself to himself. He sits at the back of the bus and ignores everyone while he listens to his walkman. Until Eleanor gets on the bus and no one wants to sit with her, Park gets annoyed and tells her to sit next to him although he's much less than happy about it. They don't speak on the bus at first but Eleanor reads his comics over his shoulder when we doesn't notice (talk about a cute way to start.) so when he realises he starts bringing them for her to borrow so she doesn't have to read over his shoulder on the bus. Isn't he the cutest.. I love Park. I loved that this book was from both points of view and that there wasn't any of the stuff I don't want to read about in YA books. It was sweet when they did do stuff like that and not much detail was gone into about it. I didn't expect the ending at all!! I hated it!! I won't spoil it more than saying I cried my eyes out. Park is just so chivalrous when it comes to people bulling Eleanor which I love. But then he wasn't shown to be perfect, he had his flaws that became apparent but they were worked through. They were both the most real and normal and flawed characters I have ever read about and I felt myself rooting for them the whole way through because I got so emotionally invested in the two of them that I couldn't help but swoon and cry all the way through. Also the way Park's parents are is exactly how I want to be with my husband when I'm a parent. They're adorable and they really shape Park's outlook on love in general just as Eleanor's parents shape her outlook. I love that Rainbow Rowell played with their ethnicites and their characterization was amazing, I could picture these characters completely in my head and all the places they were and what they were doing. It was just so clear! Plus I finished this book really quickly, like as soon as I read the first chapter I didn't want to not read it anymore. I even read it while Harry watched Doctor who and since I love Doctor who that tells you how much I love this book! Definitely going to be a re-read in the future and I'm so glad I picked this book up! Everyone needs this book in their life!</div>

Here's the cover that I've got. (It doesn't match my uglies copy but ah well!) </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I actually love this cover, and how it looks next to Specials and Extras on my shelf which match :P So onto the review; (Just a quick reminder that since this book is the 2nd if you haven't read Uglies I will have to spoil it to explain this book's plot)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So this book was amazing in most ways. Half the time I spent shouting at my book because I want David back... I missed him until the end. So this book starts a few weeks after the other left off, Tally is a pretty and is trying to become a 'Crim' short for Criminals clique. She meets the leader called Zane (for the first part of his appearance I thought he was a girl named Suzanne who just shortened her name :P) She doesn't remember her life in the smoke or really much of what happened in the first book but she goes on a search to 'get bubbly' which basically is when you escape being pretty-minded and feel like an ugly again. She finds the note she wrote to herself in the end of the last book and things start be get clearer for her about the smoke as she tries to get her memories back and escape the grasps of the specials.<br />I loved Zane... at some points. I liked that their relationship was quite homey and comfortable and stuff but I hated them a little too because they aren't real, their relationship was as the pretties would say Bogus. They only really became something when Tally had something to offer Zane and I don't think they would have gotten together if it wasn't for the thing she had to offer. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I think most people didn't like Tally in the first book but I liked her in the other book and I hated her for most of this book. The pretty slang was annoying, when they were all saying things were pretty-making and bogus and they were all off to get new 'Surge' all the bloody time. The surge really interested me, they got flash tattoos that moved to the beat of their hearts and Shay got eye jewels that tell the time. Which was creepy but it seems to me that people in our time would do all that if the opportunity arouse. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I know last time I said I liked Shay but my opinon has changed, I really really dislike shay. and their names for each other Tally-Wa and Shay-La eugh!! but the book was infuriating but amazing. I was so sad at the ending although I saw it coming because of the title of the books.. If you don't see it coming think about it more. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The only thing I really hated about this book was that David was gone like all the time, until right at the end. and I love David. I ship David and Tally until the end of my days!! but I loved how Scott Westerfeld did this. For one I liked that we got almost a whole book of Tally and David and almost a whole book of Tally and Zane, I think it makes it easier to make a choice on who you like better when it's not a love triangle all the time. and I choose David. Also Westerfeld made you think so many times that David was there and it turned out to be someone else. Then when it was David I had lost faith and didn't think it was him. But he's still lovely and my favorite character!!</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: left;">
Which I hate because it's the stupid cover redesign! here's the bluby thing;</div>
<span style="background-color: white; color: #181818; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 19px;">Taking place on the spaceship Godspeed before Amy Martin wakes up and Elder takes leadership, this novella describes life at the Hospital during Eldest's reign. Focusing primarily on background characters, readers will see fan-favorite characters Harley, Orion, Victria, and more.</span><br />
<br style="background-color: white; color: #181818; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 19px;" />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #181818; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 19px;">Selene is a singer on a spaceship that only values people who can provide important skills that enhance survival. As her friends--fellow "loons" in the Hospital--start to join apprenticeships to turn their skills into valuable labor, Selene is sent with a handful of other students to learn about the importance of art from the Recorder, Orion. The assignment pairs her with a young sculptor, Luthor, and their dangerous romance proves just how terrifying living trapped on a spaceship under the rule of a heartless dictator could be. </span><br />
<br style="background-color: white; color: #181818; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 19px;" />
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="background-color: white; color: #181818; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 19px;">This tragic tale explores the background of a previously unknown character, linking the history of the ship and its residents to Amy and Elder, giving depth to the world of Godspeed</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
So I loved that this Novella followed a very very minor character as the POV character, Selene was literally some woman who inoculates rabbits who talks to Amy for like five minutes and that is the only time she is featured in Across the Universe, but her background is so easy to understand and link in with Amy. It starts with the scene that has Amy in it talking to Selene about the rabbits but then flashes back to i think 6 years ago before Elder has moved to the hospital and before Amy is woken up. It features more about other characters such as Harley and lets you see into mentioned characters who were not around for Across the Universe like Kayleigh. It also taught you more about Luthe who is horrible to both Amy and Selene. The ending was so horrible and I saw how it linked in with Amy which made it even sadder. </div>

</div>
Hello,<br />
This review would have taken me a much shorter time to do but I've been at summer school at a local university and haven't had much time to read! This review is on Across the universe by Beth Revis! Here's the beautiful cover!<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img height="400" src="http://www.murphyslibrary.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/Across-the-Universe.jpg" width="261" /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
God I'm happy to have that cover on my shelf! Anyway to the review of the book and not the cover! So this was my first ever sifi book! I've never had any intention of reading si-fi because the blurbs have never appealed to me before but this one. As soon as I read the blurb I knew I had to buy the book. Plus I got it second hand for £2. It is about a girl named Amy who gets cryogenically frozen to go along with her parents to go on a ship for 300 years to a new planet called Centauri Earth. She and the other frozens will be woken up when they get to the new planet, so when Amy is woken she assumes this is what has happened but really someone has woken her 50 years before landing in an attempt to kill her. There the first person she meets (and the only person who is her age) is Elder, the ship has a system that means there is always an Elder and an Eldest, the Eldest is the oldest person on the ship and was an Elder before he became leader of the ship, and the Elder is supposed to be taught by Eldest to one day rule the ship as Eldest and he is the youngest person on the ship (which confused me how that worked to begin with but it later makes it clear) So obviously when Elder sees Amy for the first time it's amazing for him that there's a girl who's his age who he thinks can teach him about sol-earth which is our world. She sticks out though with her red hair and green eyes and really light skin because all the people on Godspeed (the ship) have become monoethnectic so they all have similar qualities none of which Amy processes. With the help of Elder Amy tries to figure out the attempted murders on the ship to ensure her parent's safe arrival on Cantauri- Earth even if she personally may never see them again.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I loved the Sifi in this book, I loved hearing our society from the point of view of Elder who thinks it's all bad, because he's been taught that monothenicity is the best way for any world to be, but he also doesn't really understand when Amy's screaming at him about how wrong things are compared to Sol-Earth on the ship. There's a little bit of dystopian in it and I loved the mix of the two genres, I liked that while trying to figure out the murders both Amy and Elder figured out more and more about the ship than they ever had before forcing you and them to question it's authority entirely. I liked the first chapter as a getting into it thing because sometimes I find first chapters a little dull. but this one describes the process of getting frozen from Amy's POV, and it gets quite scary when she's watching her mum and dad be frozen and is actually going through it herself. There are also quite a few random crazy chapters from her POV when she is still frozen in which you hear her fears and nightmares and she's a little scatty. It's set out with two POVs with one chapter from Amy's POV and another from Elders, which is good because sometimes when they find out things about the ship they don't always find them out together and one sometimes learns more originally than the other one. So you get both their reactions to whatever revelation has happened next and also some extra information from one of them. The only thing that I didn't like was the ending, and that's just because It's part of a series. It didn't leave me wanting to read the next book at all. Because seemingly I assume that it's just another story with Elder and Amy, but I'm not sure. I still really want to read the next book but it didn't leave me wanting to as Matched and Uglies have this month.</div>

I know it's only been what 2 days? since I last posted but I finished Matched today!! I went to my aunties which is about 2 hours away in the prettiest countryside ever and I read the end of this! Wow! The ending blew my mind! I wasn't sure going into this because I had heard a few bad and mixed reviews about it, but whenever I start a book I try to be completely impartial and I think I succeeded because I loved it. Here's the cover;<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://michelleisenhoff.files.wordpress.com/2012/08/matched.jpg?w=194&h=300" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://michelleisenhoff.files.wordpress.com/2012/08/matched.jpg?w=194&h=300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So the premise is that a girl called Cassia lives in a time where the 'society' runs everything about a person's lives from even before they are born. When people turn 17 (as Cassia does in the opening of the book) they attend their matching banquet where they will see who has been chosen for them to marry (They don't really have much choice). Cassia has been excited for this forever, she gets matched with Xander (her childhood bestfriend) the odds of her being paired with someone she already knows is minuscule and it being her best friend is even smaller. But she's shocked when not only Xander turns up on the screen but so does another boy she knows ; Ky.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
At first glance of the blurb I really thought this whole book was going to be a big love triangle (Twilight style) and it'd be Cassia trying to decide but it's not at all what I thought, She spends most of her time with one of the boys (No spoilers here!) and kind of ignores or forgets the other one exists. She does find herself at odds with what kind of life she wants (The one she's supposed to have with Xander or the one she could have if she had any choice with Ky). The world Condie has built is marvelous. and I loved the kind of government thing that Cassia gets to realise towards the end of this book, she does start to realise how much the government is controlling the citizens which is beyond anything she could imagine. The 'Society' matches people based on the type of children they would provide the 'Society' as a whole. and the teenagers can eaither marry that person or no one at all. But one thing that got to me at the end of it was that it did feel a little like this book was written to set up the story for the rest of the trilogy which I know happens in every triliogy but it still seems pointless to me :P </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I loved the whole '100 things' thing. By this I will explain. In the 'Society' they decided that people couldn't enjoy great things when everything in culture is so cluttered. So the 100 committee chose 100 books, 100 poems, 100 songs etc.. and burnt the rest. The thought of burning books makes me very very sad!! I loved the romance in this as it's refreshing but not like she's constantly deciding who she's going to be with. At some points I did get a little annoyed at her for being a loon at times to one of the boys but she's still completely lovely most of the time to both of them because she truly doesn't want to hurt either! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Well I think I'm going to stop now before I give the storyline away. I think the ending was shocking as hell and I cannot wait to get crossed after I finish my to-read pile which at the moment is;</div>

<div>
Right so, I just finished one hugely reviewed books that I have only heard great things about; Uglies by Scott Westerfeld. I have noticed recently that I am changing my reading habits, since a lot of my to read books are eaither dystopian, SiFi or YA where as when I started this blog a lot of my books were romance which I haven't read in a while I don't think :P </div>
<div>
Anyway here's the cover that I've got which isn't the most common or recent one but it's just the one I got sent when I ordered it.;</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img src="http://thebooksmugglers.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/uglies-UK.jpg" /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
So my review; I first want to say that I absolutely love this book! I got it on wednesday and if I hadn't had college taster days I would have finished it yesterday! because I just devoured it so easilly. It was really quick to get into since unlike a lot of Dystopian novels Westerfeld didn't start the book with a lot of world building and no actual content, which I think is great as we got to know the world as we followed Tally around it. In case you don't know the book is set in the future where everyone is born an uglie and once you turn 16 you undergo major surgury in order to become a pretty. Tally is just a regular girl in this world who is so ethusicastic about becoming pretty, in the beguinning until she meets her friend Shay she's just annoyed that her birthday is so later than her best friend Perises, who by the way annoyed me because other than to be a common thing between Shay and Tally since they're both alone I don't see the point of him other than to push Tally to do things that she wouldn't have done without him. but Maybe he features more in the other books in the trilogy. So as an ugly Tally is rebelious and plays cool tricks and stuff. and Shay teaches her how to HOVERBOARD!! that's so cool! But I loved how the technoloegey that this world has is aboslutely amazing and futuristic like in a lot of other books set in the future but it isn't without flaws. for example the hoverboards need to constantly be near metal so flying them outside the city is somewhat difficult for Tally and Shay. I love that not every bit of technolegy is perfect like it would seem. I just loved the premise of this book really. I thought the characters were all really interesting. Tally was a typical teenager (including me) she didn't really understand until it was shoved in her face what was happening, she really wanted to be a pretty but she didn't want to betray Shay and the Smokies, really she didn't know what was going on or what she was going to do about it until she had to do something. I liked Shay because she was more forward thinking and really saw what the operation did to people even before they had had it. Like that it made them feel bad about themselves because of their branding of 'uglies'. But my favorite character has to be David, who I won't tell you much about because he's not mentioned in the synopsis or anything but I'll just say he's different to everyone else in the book and I love him! Even though he's an Uglie I still think he's adorable just the way he is around Tally. Another thing I loved was the classification names, like children are called littlies, teens are Uglies, pre-ops are Pretties, middle aged people are Middle Pretties and old people are Crumblies (How cute it that!) it did really make things a lot clearer. But one thing that confused me the whole way through although it wasn't a massive deal to the plot or anything was how families work in this world. From what I understand children don't live with their parents, only on school breaks. They live in their parts of the city which are classified by which group you are in. Tally doesn't even call her parents mum (or mom) and dad, she calls them Ellie and Sol. and she's surprised at David's family when he does call his parents mum and dad. She's also even surprised that David looks like his father (sorry if that's a spoiler about David ). It did confuse me why families were split up like that but since Tally's parents aren't there an awful lot it didn't really effect how I understood the book as a whole. Another thing I loved was the stuff that Tally saw from the rusties who were from the olden times which I suspect is about where we are in time now. There were stuff like rollarcoasters which she had no idea what they were for and she thought that the traintracks were the same as the rollarcoasters but boring since they were just straight, she also saw what we know is a helicopter but she thinks it's some sort of weird hovercar with blades that can fly anywhere without metal, I thought it was funny to know what it was but see it from a view of someone with no idea. Also even though I can't remember there being all that much description but I can picture the whole place in my head easily!Now I can't wait to get pretties!!!</div>

<span style="font-family: inherit;">Perfect Glass - Laura Anderson Kurk;</span><br />

<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Book Blurb:</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Things get messy when Meg Kavanagh gets involved—first with Jo Russell, the eccentric old artist, and then with Quinn O’Neill, the intriguing loner who can’t hide how he feels about Meg. Her senior year isn’t turning out like she planned it, but sometimes the best parts of life happen in the in-between moments. And Henry will be home soon, right?</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">He commits to one year in an orphanage that needs him more than he ever dreamed. Thousands of miles from Meg and the new punk who has fallen for her, and absent from the ranch that’s in his blood, Henry Whitmire finds out what it means to trust. When you’re so far from home, it’s terrifying to realize you’re not who you thought. But the perfect glass of calamity makes the best mirror.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">An identity crisis, long distance love, new temptation, and growing pains teach Henry and Meg how to hang onto each other and to what really matters.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">From YA author Laura Anderson Kurk comes the sequel to Glass Girl, a lyrical, multi-generational story about love that teaches, loss that haunts empty rooms, and reunions that feel like redemption.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">My review:</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Gosh, I loved glass girl so much and sometimes sequels are disappointing for me but this one in a lot of ways was even better! I loved Henry's point of view. <span style="background-color: #fffdf3; text-align: justify;">His point of view is so different to Megs which is of huge credit to Laura, boys are hard to write! but I think his perceptive is needed and amazing, because at this point in his life, his whole thinking can't revolve around Meg like it could in Glass girl when he was still in high school. He has a lot going on around him in </span><span style="background-color: white; line-height: 14.84375px;">Managua, and he's really trying to get it right when everything is falling down around him. I love the depth his character got in this book as apposed to glass girl. and That Quinn! I could write pages on how much I hate him, I don't care if he was a nice guy I still hate him! but unforunately I can't really explain why I hate him without some spoilers, so let's just say he's just not my type of guy :P One character that I really noticed that I kind of forgot about in my review of Glass Girl is </span><span style="background-color: white; line-height: 14.84375px;">Thanet</span><span style="background-color: white; line-height: 14.84375px;"> which I'm kind of ashamed of because I got so mixed up in the Romance that I forgot him :-\ Sorry Thanet! But I loved him because as a daughter of someone with </span><span style="background-color: white;"><span style="line-height: 14.84375px;">Cerebral Palsy I think Laura got it perfectly. It's a hinderince but it's not the person. At times I forgot Thanet even had it until something happened that made it important again! Because Sometimes people think that because someone has a disability they are completely different but Thanet is portrayed as a completely normal teenager. And I love his little crush! I've just noticed I haven't even foccused on Meg yet. I loved her relationship with Jo, and how she didn't give up on her like so many would with someone who was </span><span style="line-height: 14.84375px;">originally</span><span style="line-height: 14.84375px;"> so rude to them. I also liked her worry and slight desperation when it came to Henry. She missed him and was worried about him, but she also saw how important what he was doing was. and when he came back and she could tell he had left his heart back there she didn't just make him stay for her. Also a little message to Harry (Who I know is reading this) I kind of understand your jealousy a little more thanks to Henry and Laura (You should thank them :P)</span></span><span style="background-color: white;"><span style="line-height: 14.84375px;"><br /></span></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="background-color: white;"><span style="line-height: 14.84375px;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="background-color: white;"><span style="line-height: 14.84375px;">Now for a little 'Behind the Scenes' with Laura. and It has a bit in England (I'm Glad your impression hasn't changed Laura, we're still amazing people :P) </span></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="background-color: white;"><span style="line-height: 14.84375px;"><br /></span></span>
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Behind the Scenes</span></div>
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">An American Abroad</span></div>
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">“Try not to move your arms around too much.” “Oh, and, keep your voice in the ‘this is a library’ range. Even when you’re outside.” “And don’t flip your hair around…they hate that!”</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">These are things I was told before leaving for a college trip to England and Scotland. I remember thinking, “Gah, I’ve got to pretend not to be American!”</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Only two days into the trip, at Hard Rock Café in London, a group of Londoners sat watching my friends and me. We were laughing, feeling incredibly alive and present in this beautiful city. I forgot myself and flipped my long hair over my shoulder.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Within seconds, one of the most gorgeous guys I’d ever seen brought his British self and accent over to our table and sat next to me. He leaned on his elbows and stared into my eyes. My heart stopped. Literally. I couldn’t breathe. He smiled and I thought, “This is it. I’m now meeting the man I will marry.”</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">But here’s what he said under his sweet British breath, “My friends and I have a wager on about you.”</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">“You do,” I breathed.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">“Want to know what it’s about?”</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">I nodded.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">“We’re wondering how many times you’ll flip your hair in the next ten minutes.”</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Memories like these made it easier for me to write the scenes in Perfect Glass where Henry is feeling particularly American. It doesn’t take long in Nicaragua for him to realize how much he stands out. He shuts down and for the first time he’s a non-starter.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">The point I hoped to make in the book, though, is that we’re all essentially alike. The episode in London’s Hard Rock didn’t affect my impression of England. What I found were people who reminded me of my southern American roots. They smiled a lot. They laughed as loudly as I did. I tucked a lot of that country and those people into my heart.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Henry learned this, too, in Perfect Glass. Once we get over ourselves and our own insecurities and see that we’re all human, the wheels turn a lot easier and lives are changed eternally.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">On a side note that quote makes me want to cry!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Blurb:</span></div>
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">I live in the in between. Between what if and what is. It’s how I manage. It’s the only way I know. Everyone has their way. This is mine.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">When high school, cell phone disruption forces a classroom ban, the words on a Post-it note spark a sticky romance between two unlikely friends. Transfer student Talia Vanderbilt has one goal at her new school: to blend in with the walls. Lagan Desai, basketball captain and mathlete, would do just about anything to befriend the new girl. One Post-it note at a time, Lagan persuades Talia to peel back her heart, revealing her treasure chest of pain—an absent mother, a bedridden brother, and an abusive father. In a world where hurt is inevitable, the two teens search for a safe place to weather the storms of life. Together.</span></blockquote>
<span style="font-family: inherit;"> Review:</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">I absolutely cannot falter this book! I spent most of my time trying to scream at Talia to realise things that she just didn't, and I think that really showed how sheltered she is in a sense, because she doesn't understand what's actually happened although she's older than I am and I saw it clearly before it was even shown as clear as day. Although It's different when you're on the inside. I hated her dad (obviously), but Rajdeep's portal of him was ingenious to say the least. I loved how she gave little hints to what had forced Talia's mother to marry her father but Talia herself didn't realise what had happened and so Rajdeep never stated it outright.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Lagan (pronounced la - gone) was breath taking! Seriously all the sticky notes (post its to you american friends :P) were adorable, even before Talia had first had lunch with him I was already sold on him. I thought that it was a brilliant idea of Rajdeep's to make the sticky notes a huge part of their relationships because I think it shows that people can and do feel braver on paper or email and such to say what they really feel, and since Talia and Lagan don't have the option to facebook each other the sticky notes are another outlet for Talia to open herself up to Lagan without saying anything at all. and the waterfall willow!! seriously you'll get it if you read it :P Weeping willows are my favorite tree so that being my idea of romance may just be in my weird head :P. I liked the symbolism in the colour blue too (intentional or not). As for Talia it really did symbolise the true meaning of beauty, she even said she wanted to wear blue on her wedding day.</span><br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Jesse also (although I do hate his name, as being a Jessica I get called it constantly and it is more of a boys name than a girls but I digress) his improvement throughout the book really showed how much closer they were getting to getting away. God there's so much I can say about this book! (Also digressing again but I have noticed that since the review of TFIOS Or LFA my reviews are getting longer as I'm reading as a writer :P) The ending was the best part for me, because I do have a love-hate relationship with <span style="background-color: white; line-height: 11.333333015441895px;">ambiguous</span><span style="background-color: white; line-height: 11.333333015441895px;"> endings and this one I really did love. I wanted to have my own ending in my head for Talia and it wasn't unsatisfying as some ambigous endings seem to be. i liked what the ending gave us and what it didn't. It explained what it needed to to get you thinking and stopped there in the exact right place!! I'm really looking forward to reading more from Rajdeep as this is her debut novel and I can tell there will be plenty more great ones in her future.</span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: inherit; line-height: 11.333333015441895px;"><br /></span></div>
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="background-color: white; line-height: 11.333333015441895px;"><br /></span>
<span style="background-color: white; line-height: 11.333333015441895px;">Now for a Fun fact from Rajdeep!;</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="background-color: white; line-height: 11.333333015441895px;"><br /></span>
Rajdeep here: On Crying...</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">I am a girl who wears my heart on my sleeve, unlike Talia who prefers to cry alone, where she can hide her pain from the world. I cry at just about anything. A sappy commercial, Children’s movies, even a song on the radio can set me off. And if it’s raining, and I’m driving, and I start crying, we’re talking blur to the blur. Someone take the wheel from me asap!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">The last kid’s movie I wept like a baby at was The Croods. That scene when [Warning: spoiler alert!] the dad throws his arms back in one last heave of his final family member and you realize there’s no one left to get the father across to join his family. O.M.G. I was in pieces.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">And you might have read this somewhere before, but it’s true. The first time I penned chapter two of Swimming, as I reread my first draft, I sat at my lap top and had myself a good ol’ cry.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Love me a good ol’ cry. Yes I do.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>

Well if I'm honest this book review is probally going to pretty much suck. Not because I hated this book, or that I have nothing to say about it because I could talk about this book forever. But because from what I hear most people read this book and analyze it in school (We did of Mice and Men). I wrote this review now even though I finished the book two days ago because I saw the film with one of my friends yesterday so I thought this post could be a book and film review rolled into one. Here's the cover which I've got;<br />

So to start off with this is supposed to be known as the 'great american novel' and since I'm from England I had to google the premice of the american dream. Only to be told by John Green that it is a universal dream that the americans have just claimed it which I found quite humorous. but after knowing what the American dream is I dove straight into the book, pulling out all the symbolism and talking to myself as I went through</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Firsly I will say do not go into this book looking for an easy read, It is not one of those books that you can just read without thinking about it. Even though in my version it's only 115 pages it is a difficult read. I had to re-read the first chapter because the first time I read it I wasn't really into it and that makes me read without paying attention and in this book made me miss everything, with all the big ideas that Nick randomly spouts off it's hard to read it without getting confused if you aren't paying attention. So as you probably know the book is not from the point of view of Gatsby as the title would suggest, or even from the point of view of his love interest Daisy Buchanan. It is from the point of view of Gatsby's neighbor and Daisy's cousin ; Nick Carraway. This was kind of distracting at the beginning since I wanted to know about Gatsby and there Nick was talking about how his family got into money and where he lives in west egg. It took a while to get into the story from his point of view and although I get why it's not from any insiders point of view I think I would have liked a view from one of the more central characters. Apart from Gatsby reaching to the green light, the first view you get of who he is, is from the guests and the huge extravagant parties he throws at his mansion next door to Nick. I did find it really funny when they were all drinking his liquor and enjoying his house while they could only ever speculate about the kind of man he really is, and they all sit and enjoy speculating while none of them (apart from Jordan) ever thinks well how about we get to know this man who is nice enough to throw us parties and show him a little bit of decency. He is very different from the rest of the characters and I think that is refreshing, he didn't earn his millions honestly like everyone else but he also wasn't born into it like the others who are all from considerable family wealth. At first I loved his love for Daisy and how it was shown, about him moving across the bay from her and all the parties but then I realised one; that Daisy is not a likable nice person, and two; Gatsby isn't really in love with her, he's very obviously in love with the idea of her, of her wealth and her family and her house and what they could have had had the war not come about. I really did hate Daisy and her husband Tom and I think that's the point of it. They're the old money type who get what they want and who completely go against the american dream, as not everyone in the book gets as good fortune as these two horrible people did. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Another thing I didn't like so much was the to and frowing about Jordan's relationship with Nick. It was obvious that they were together and he admits that he was half in love with her but how that could be I don't know because she's only ever there when she's needed. She's never seen around Nick alone apart from on a favor to Gatsby and you don't see their relationship so I thought it was just a way to make Nick sort of emotionally involved with some character but not very much. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
So the film. It stuck to the book well with quotes pulled directly from the book that I sat and whispered while in the cinema, although one thing that struck me as annoying was that the sympolism while in the book is done discreatly and cleverly, they butchered F scott fitzgerald's delicacy as instead of the clever whispers it was more like they were shouting at us to realise that it was symbolism which isn't how it's supposed to work. The green light was way too over empasised with Gatsby actually trying to grasp it and Nick noting that the light is what he is trying to get to in his inner monlogue, which in the book he didn't actually realise. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Also another thing is that while Daisy's daughter didn't get much screen time in the book she got significantly less in the film. There is a rather short but important scene in the book where Gatsby meets her which was missed out and I understand why but It still bothered me. Also Nick got into a weird kissing thing with Mytle's sister which I might be wrong but I can't remember that happening in the book. and his relationship with Jordan was actually none existent which suited me fine. By this I realise that it sounds like I hated the film which I didn't, I loved the modern feel to it and all the yellow and the shirt scene was amazing. but I do think it was over done on the symbolism which annoyed the hell out of me. Anyway I'm done now so Bye:)</div>
